British Association for Performing Arts Medicine
The British Association for Performing Arts Medicine(BAPAM) is a specialist charity that deals with the occupational health field of performing arts medicine. BAPAM provides a range of services for all professional, semi-professional and student performers:
- free confidential clinics providing specialist medical assessments
- a helpline on medical issues for performers
- a directory of conventional and complementary practitioners working with performers
- injury prevention and health awareness training for performers, students and tutors
- performing arts medicine training for health professionals
- The AMABO (Association of Medical Advisors to British Orchestras) scheme, providing independent medical advice to orchestral musicians
- research into health problems affecting performers

Membership Details
The minimum subscription is only �35 per annum. Members receive a quarterly newsletter about BAPAM's activities and a bi-annual journal on matters relating to performing arts medicine
Training Details:
BAPAM provides training to performing arts students on health awareness and injury prevention. BAPAM also runs training courses for GPs and other practitioners on aspects of performing arts medicine.
